Hegars Halde: summit of cosiness.

"Schauinsland", the very name of the mountain gives the promise of altitude and - views! Yes, booking the "Hegars Halde" for relaxing days in the southwest of Germany means to look forward to gastronomic delights with enchanting panoramas. This tasteful hotel in Southern Blackwood Forest on meters is the perfect choice, guaranteed by Lucia and Martin Hegar who run the gem for 13 years as attentive hosts: paying attention to the boutique atmosphere of 38 spacious rooms and suites as well as to the right mix of top-quality and natural comfort.

Is the southern Black Forest worth a trip to? Everything in "Hegars Halde" says "Yes!" Local woods, fresh colors, fabrics that look as if they had been specially devised for this place: In this extraordinary hotel one easily fits to another. And for nature is directing in every detail, the guests may feel accompanied in a natural way through the day, from breakfast to the sauna, from a refreshing dip in the pond until dinner time in centuries-old taverns, where you feel in good hands. Even water comes from the hotel's own spring.
Gloriously uninhibited view may roam from here to the nearby Black Forest scenery of Haldenköpfle, a popular ski area, where during winter slopes of varying difficulty are luring. Dreaming is expressly permitted, but loosing yourself in the enchanting panorama you might miss the most pleasure: for example, a plate of seductively scented "Schauinsländer Bergheusuppe with colorful flowers," whose ingredients Chef Martin Hegar personally has picked up on lush pastures in the immediate vicinity.
Mr. Hegar, to promote a true, authentic and tradition-conscious Black Forest cuisine.
What does that mean?

Let me put it this way: in Hegars Halde we cook "honest" food, do entirely without fashionable frills. A veal roast is a veal roast.
What we use to add to, at best, is a blow tasty mashed potatoes and a finely flavored gravy, not more. Finally, the guest wants to find on his plate what he had ordered from the map. Real and genuine, however, also means that you can rely on the exceptional quality of our products that we - wherever possible - receive from our region. Basically, we rely on the best flavor enhancer you can get: quality.

Today's four stars hotel goes back to a farm from the 16th century. Dark wood paneling and creaky wooden floorboards are told to once have been an ornament to a princely office ..

Yes, our hotel indeed is a historic treasure. It had been founded as a courtyard supplying the monastery of St. Blaise. Being a hotel now that gives hospitality in such an inviting manner, is grateful to the architect Karl Langenbach from the city of Lahr. He was commissioned by the Freiburg owners family Mock to renovate the old estate carefully, without taking away its character.

As for the view location of Hegars Halde the term of "eye candy" agrees exactly. There are guest rooms that share the view of the highest Black Forest peak, the Feldberg. And others that have the suffix "Haldenköpfle." What actually is your favorite viewpoint?
